The content on this site does not necessarily reflect the views of coalition members.

No part of this site may be reproduced in any format unless prior permission from Dying Matters has been acquired. Every effort has been made to see that no inaccurate or misleading data, statement or opinion is expressed on this website, and Dying Matters accepts no responsibility or liability for the consequences of any such inaccurate or misleading data, statement or opinion.

Dying Matters is not responsible for the content of any linked or external website, and does not necessarily agree or endorse the opinions or statements expressed on such sites.

When visiting our website, your web browser may produce pop-up advertisements. By registering for the Community Area of the Dying Matters site, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, the Dying Matters Coalition reserves the right to prohibit you from using this site.

1. User conduct

1.1 Participation in this site is entirely at your own risk.

1.2 All views and information are individual and not the views of the Dying Matters Coalition.

1.3 Any reference to third party organisations, their products or services does not imply endorsement by the Dying Matters Coalition and can be removed by the Dying Matters Coalition.

1.4 Using the message boards to gather information for surveys or similar is prohibited without the prior written consent of the Dying Matters Coalition.

1.5 You agree not to participate in mischievous or malicious behaviour which causes or may cause damage to the Dying Matters Coalition or this site.

1.6 This site is not a substitute for professional advice. You should consult a relevant professional before making any decisions that could affect you or others.

2. Postings and messages

 You are responsible for all the content which you make available, or receive, to or from our website. This includes all content by you or on your behalf. Content that is posted to this site must follow these conditions:

2.1 Messages must not be obscene, defamatory, libellous, vulgar, sexually orientated, hateful, threatening or in violation of any laws or good morals and practice. You hereby undertake to indemnify and hold harmless the Dying Matters Coalition against all costs and expenses from any such actions by you.

2.2  Messages containing contact details are not allowed except with the prior written consent of the Dying Matters Coalition.

2.3  Messages must not contain advertisements or references to products or services except with the prior written consent of the Dying Matters Coalition.

2.4  By submitting information to the discussion boards, you grant the Dying Matters Coalition a non-exclusive royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such content (in whole or part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed for the full term of any Rights that may exist in such Content.

2.5  The Dying Matters Coalition may edit or remove posts that are contrary to these terms and conditions or not constructive to the overall purpose and mission of the Dying Matters Coalition.

2.6  You agree not to transmit any chain letters, spam, or junk messages to other users or any material containing software viruses or other harmful, disruptive or destructive  files designed to damage or disrupt the good working order of any computer or telecommunications equipment.

3.    Moderation and Banning

3.1 The Dying Matters Coalition has the right to remove, edit, move or close any message or group of messages for any reason.

3.2  The Dying Matters Coalition is not obliged to enter into any correspondence regarding content moderation.

3.3  The Dying Matters Coalition has the right to modify or delete any or all information relating to a user, including deletion of that user''s account, without prior notice or reason.

3.4   In cases of dispute, the decision of Dying Matters Community Manager shall be final.

Find Your 1% terms and conditions 

By registering for the Find Your 1% area of the Dying Matters site, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, the Dying Matters Coalition reserves the right to prohibit you from using this site.

5.    Notice

The terms and conditions of this agreement are subject to change by the Dying Matters Coalition at any time, although the Dying Matters Coalition will aim to make users aware of any significant changes. Any user's use of this site following changes shall indicate the user's acceptance of the new agreement.

Competition terms and conditions

Please read these competition rules carefully. If you enter one of our competitions, we will assume that you have read these rules and that you agree to them. 

1. To enter a competition you must be: (a) UK resident; and (b) 18 years old or over at the time of entry. 

2. Competitions are not open to employees (or members of their immediate families) of the National Council of Palliative Care, the Dying Matters Coalition or any third party with whom the competition is run. 

3. Only one entry per person. 

4. If you want to enter a competition you may enter via the website on the applicable competition page. 

5. Sending an e-mail is not proof that we have received your entry. No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are lost or delayed, or which are not received for any reason. 

6. The winner(s) will be selected either as they are judged the best of the entries by the judges or because they are randomly chosen. 

7. The closing date is as specified in each competition, and the Dying Matters Coalition reserves the right to amend the competition end date at any time. 

8. If you win a competition, we will notify you by e-mail. The judges’ decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into. 

9. You can find out who has won a particular competition by sending a stamped addressed envelope, marked with the name of the competition to Dying Matters, 34-44 Britannia St, London, WC1X 9JG.

10. By entering a competition you agree to participate in such promotional activity and material as Dying Matters may require. 

11. The prize is non-transferable.

12. No part of a prize is exchangeable for cash or any other prize. 

13. If an advertised prize is not available, we reserve the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value. 

14. Incorrectly completed entries will be disqualified. 

15. Dying Matters reserves the right to amend these rules at any time. Dying Matters may also create rules which will apply to a specific competition only. If we do this we will publish the amended competition rules and/or specific competition rules on the relevant competition page. 

16. We will endeavour to send prizes within a month of the competition end date but cannot guarantee this delivery time.
