Cornwall Funeral Services - Dying Matters Week 2019
Cornwall Funeral Services provide a broad range of high-quality services and products, having been audited in March 2019 and rated ‘exceptional’ by the National Association of Funeral Directors.
As practitioners, we are highly committed to raising standards within the funeral profession and awareness to our customers; the general public and other organisations, such as those in the health and care sectors, church, academia and research associated with end-of-life-care.
In support of the national ‘Dying Matters’ week, which aims to change public knowledge, attitudes and behaviours towards dying, death and bereavement, Cornwall Funeral Services staged an Open Day.
We had our preferred charity, Redruth Town Band led by Andrew Craze, Musical Director entertain visitors and ‘threw our doors open’ and gave guided tours of our facilities. We were blessed with good weather, and about 50 visitors, including the Local Rural Dean, Reverend Caspar Bush, Councillor Deborah Reeve, Redruth Mayor and Councillor Mathew Brown, Deputy Town Mayor.
Our aim was to provide an opportunity for people to be better informed of the structure, requirements and processes in the UK funeral profession and gain ‘first-hand’ personal experience with us, by attending this, our first interactive Open Day in 2019.
We also facilitated discussion on ‘end-of-life’ care pathway choices, including the simple approach to ensuring we meet the needs of the individual, loved ones and those who care for them…as well as providing the full range of services and products expected in a high standard Funeral Home.
Our next Open Day is Saturday 17th August 2019 10am to 4pm.
