Dying Matters Awareness Week 2015 launch event
We'd love you to join us on Monday 19 January for a day of practical advice and inspirational ideas to help you prepare for the sixth Dying Matters Awareness Week, which runs from 18-24 May 2015.
The event will feature Dying Matters members, other national organisations and key charity partners speaking on a wide range of themes, both nationwide and at national level: from using social media to involving volunteers.
Speakers include (below, from left) Death Cafe founder Jon Underwood, award winning independent funeral director Poppy Mardall, and Anita Hayes, Programme Delivery Lead End of Life Care, Mental Health and Dementia, NHS IQ. The event will be chaired by solicitor Gary Rycroft, an NCPC Trustee and Partner and a regular on BBC1's 'Rip Off Britain' where he advises the public on legal issues.
Last year’s theme, “Dying Matters: You only die once” and its hashtag #YODO, were hugely popular, so we’ll be keeping that message running. However, we’ll also be launching new resources at the event, with simple messages and practical guidance to help the public have their wishes met at the end of life.
