You Only Die Once Event 13th May 2014 NorthWest

Stocks Hall Nursing and Care Group plan on organising an awareness raising event ‘YODO – You Only Die Once’ in order to encourage people to talk more openly about bereavement. It will be an opportunity to talk about planning, making arrangements, having their wishes heard and us giving support in whatever way we can. The event is part of the Dying Matters Awareness Week (12-18 May 2013). To support the week, Stocks Hall Nursing and Care Group will be holding this event at the home in Skelmersdale on Tuesday 13th May 2014. The theme will be centred around Butterflies. We plan on releasing Butterflies on the day, as a symbol… "Just living is not enough," said the butterfly, "one must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower." ~Hans Christian Andersen We are contacting services and speakers and asking if they would like to be involved in the event. We are asking for speakers to give a maximum of 10 mins talk and the opportunity to have a stall and speak with the people who live with us and give further information and advice. If this is something you would be interested in, please can you reply or telephone me. We are hoping to get the local press involved and hopefully a local MP. If you would like any more information about the Stocks Hall Group, please see our website If you can help in any way you can, or give any advice on how to make this event bigger ad better, please get in touch.
