We want the people of York and surrounding areas to buck the trend and their own end of lives and the end of the lives of loved ones into their own hands. It can be uncomfortable, painful and even scary, but it's also important - and can be invigorating doing it together in the open.

York Crematorium Tour

A guided tour for members of the public to visit the crematorium facilities and the memorial gardens.

York is renowned for its ghosts… come and learn about some well-known, and other more obscure, ghosts!

Make a Will Week Info Hub

Come meet the Hospice Team and solicitors from across the region who are providing Will writing services for free in return for a donation to the Hospice.

Come and meet the Festival Team to discuss a range of topics from advanced care planning, writing your Will, bereavement advice and how would you like to be remembered, to what music you would like at your funeral.

This talk will explore the growing number of dead celebrity posthumous careers through the Forbes Dead Rich List and will consider how gender inequality extends even into death.

Playback Theatre

Next Door But One, in association with Playback Theatre York, bring an evening of performance and stories of life, death and everything in between.

 

Saturday 19th May 10-11am

Good Grief Cafe

Come together with professional artists and storytellers over cake and a cuppa to tell stories, share memories and find creative ways of expressing what has happened and who you are, through the arts.
