Play Dead is a quirky exhibition of Dead Barbies, celebrating a wide range of death practices and methods of body disposal across cultures and time, and celebrating the multitude of creative and artistic ways people remember and honour their dead.
The exhibition is, according to comments- ‘Hilarious’, ‘Grotesque’ and ‘Fascinating’. Come and decide for yourself. Alongside and inspired by the exhibition will be a general knowledge quiz, (with prizes!) so come as a team or join together to form one when you get to the Art House or be your own magnificent team of one.
Play Dead will mark the launch of a series of entertaining, creative, and life-affirming, workshops at the Art House on The Art Of The Final Farewell, looking at the art of pre-plan your own funeral. Come along for one, some or all of the workshops for the opportunity to imagine and create your own artistic responses to your Final Farewell and to celebrate living.
