Good Death Cafe
We would love you to join us on the 21st May for our Good Death Cafe. It is being held in the education centre (GETEC Building) at George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton on Thursday 21st May 10am – 2pm.
The event will be a 'market stall' style approach open to the public and professionals to raise the profile of end of life care, and to showcase what services we have available locally, and nationally. There are various services having display stands from local hospices, hospitals, funeral directors, and some national agencies such as Age UK, Macmillan, NHS Improving Quality and Compassion in Dying.
The aim of this event is to raise awareness and encourage people to talk openly about dying, death and bereavement. Dying Matters Awareness week 2015 has a theme of ‘You only die once’, or #YODO, an action-focused phrase emphasizing that we only get once chance to have our dying wishes met, which is why it’s vital to talk, plan and make arrangements for the end of life – before it’s too late.
The George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust Good Death Cafe in highlights what local and national services are available in our area for people approaching the end of their life and into bereavement, to ask the questions you have always wanted to ask, and to have a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake to reflect on and talk about these important issues.
