Caring - a personal perspective
Jim Edwards has end stage emphysema, a progressive disease of the lungs. Jo, his wife, cares for him.
We first made contact with Jim and Jo when producing the publication ‘Difficult Conversations for COPD’. Since then they have been involved in other aspects of Dying Matters' work, including last year’s ‘Small Actions, Big Difference’ photography project.
Jim and Jo kindly agreed to be filmed, sharing their experiences of caring and being cared for, for our ‘Who Cares?’ conference, held on 6 November 2012. We are grateful to them for sharing their experiences so honestly and to Holly Smart, PR and Marketing Manager for St Helena Hospice, Colchester, for her support and for providing a room for filming.
