NCPC welcomes new end of life care quality standard

The National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC) has welcomed the publication of a new quality standard for end of life care for adults.

The quality standard has been produced by NICE, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence. It includes 15 statements which it describes as aspirational but achievable care for those expected to die in the next 12 months. Areas addressed include phsyical and psychological needs, spiritual and religious support and sensitive communications.
