Talking about death, dying and funerals can be daunting, so the Church of England has been working to find out what people find challenging about this, and to develop resources to support those involved in funeral ministry to have those conversations.
Led by Dr Sandra Millar from the Archbishops’ Council, this one day event gives those involved in funeral ministry the opportunity to:
·         Discover new resources to help support your funeral ministry;
·         Learn more about how ‘Grave Talk’ is helping to break the taboo about talking; and
·         Hear about major research findings emerging from the Archbishops’ Council Funerals Project.
The programme for the day is as follows:
10 - 11.15am       The Missional Context and the Public Conversation
11.45am – 1pm   Personal and Pastoral: Contemporary Funeral Ministry
1.45 - 2.45pm     Professional Relationships
3 – 3.45pm          After the Funeral: Bereavement Support, Welcome and Contact
4pm                      Finish
