National Dying Matters Awareness Week
We are supporting national dying matters awareness week, 8-14 May 2017. This year, we ask ‘What Can You Do?’ This aims to get people more active in planning for dying and death and helping support those who may need it in times of grief and bereavement, be they friends, family or in your wider community.
To get people talking, we are holding two events for staff. Both have limited spaces, so to book your space, contact Jacqui.cammish@uhs.nhs.uk or 023 8120 8881.
Tuesday 9 May, 12.30pm-1.00pm – Why write or update your will?
Experienced solicitor Roger Turner will be on hand to discuss the benefits of writing or updating your will. Join us in the clinical skills room, Heartbeat Education Centre, F level.
Wednesday 10 May, 12.00midday-12.30pm – Dispelling the myths of the funeral profession
Ever wondered what being a funeral director entails? Come along to this informal seminar to find out how a carefully planned funeral can make all the difference in times of bereavement. Join the conversation with Phillip Hutchings, from Paul Capper Funeral Directors at the Learning Support meeting room, South Academic Block, A level.
